Organic farmer at La Ferme du Bec Hellouin
A former top-level athlete and international lawyer, Perrine Hervé-Gruyer decided at the age of 30 to radically change track and become a psychotherapist. Then in 2003, together with her husband Charles she founded the Bec Hellouin organic farm in Normandy. The primary aim of this adventure was to feed their children with healthy products resulting from their own hard work. The farm developed over the years and Perrine and Charles obtained organic certification in 2006. Discovering permaculture bore special resonance for Perrine: she studied the subject in Japan, Britain and Cuba. Perrine Herve-Gruyer has been a councillor on the Haute-Normandy regional council and tasked with developing organic farming.
In this role, she has worked with a range of stakeholders from the world of farming. Perrine is also a lecturer and consultant in permaculture. She earned certification as a teacher of applied permaculture on 7 May 2013.
In March 2017, Perrine and Charles Hervé Gruyer brought out Permaculture – Guérir la terre, nourrir les hommes published by Actes sud, Collection Domaine Du Possible, March 2017.
